Blacknall’s Youth Ministries challenges middle school and
high school students in the Durham and Chapel Hill area to
deepen their understanding of the Christian faith and their
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Blacknall is actively searching for a new Director of Youth
Ministries.
Our middle school ministries fall under the Associate
Director for Middle School Ministries.
Our staff are supported by a committed team of adult
volunteers who work with our middle school and
high school
ministries. Blacknall's Youth Ministry
Council provides strategic guidance for our
long-term needs and planning.
Weekly Activities
Our regular activities during the academic year include
Sunday morning and Sunday evening activities. We also have
special events including retreats, lock-ins, social events,
and service projects.
Our middle school and high school Sunday morning
programs meet from 9:45 - 10:45 am.
Our Sunday evening middle school and high school youth
activities generally meet from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Our high school discipleship
program meets at the church on Wednesday evenings
from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.
Summer
During the summer, our middle schoolers and high schoolers
meet on Sunday mornings and have informal activities during
the week.
Our high schoolers typically take a mission trip each June.
We went to New York City for our 2007 trip and will be
headed to New Orleans for our 2008 trip.
Our middle schoolers attend a week-long camp in July called
The Great Escape.
Our Church
Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church
stands in the evangelical stream of Presbyterianism,
emphasizing the importance of the Bible and prayer in
building a personal relationship with God, warmth and
intimacy in worship, mutual responsibility and
accountability among members of the church, and the
urgency of the church's outreach mandate.
